WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., released the following statement after 17 airports received $5,392,774 million in total to upgrade their hangars, perimeter fencing and gates, fuel facilities, and runway lighting. A few airports received funding to update their master plans. This tranche of funding comes after Mississippi’s airports received over $8 million in a previous allotment.
“It’s not a bad day when I can say Mississippi has received $13 million in a week to upgrade airports. Every dollar will better position our state,” Senator Wicker said.
